I love the holidays. Everything about it – the general buzz in the air, mulled cider, Christmas decorations, ice skating and of course, SNOW!!! There are certain food that only become available around this time of year – some people look forward to the holiday drinks at Starbucks or roast beef or buche de noel…for me, nothing signals the arrival of the holiday season like Hershey’s Holiday Kisses, Candy Cane, 10-Ounce Packages (Pack of 4)

That’s right people. Candy cane flavored Hershey’s kisses. I know, I know! I don’t even like white chocolate! But these kisses are ‘white’ chocolate (which I suspect isn’t even real white chocolate… but who cares), swirled with peppermint flavor and little chunks of nonpareil candy that give a little texture and crunch to each bite. They are truly addictive.

If you see these hard-to-find treats at your local store, pick up several bags as they go fast and you won’t see them again until next year! Note: I’ve seen them at CVS pretty regularly during December, but Duane Reade seems to only selectively carry them.
P.S. For all you grinches out there who don’t get into the holiday spirit… I bring you my latest non-food related obsession…Grumpy Cat. He hates the holidays.

I love these things – by themselves and in baked goods, too! Peppermint bark (which is essentially what these are) has always been a favorite of mine, and I don’t like white chocolate, either! (It’s an oxymoron, in my book.) thanks for the reminder – I am off to the CVS now! ~ David
